I begin with abstract photography because it is what I am most involved with at the moment. It captured my interest and turned into a passion. Nothing gives me such a feeling of energy as capturing colours and forms on film.
Abstract Photos
The photos I love to take the most of all are basically abstract colour forms. They sprung from the well of curiosity in my brain - when drawing, I have always tried to depict reality; when painting it was usually a mixture of reality and abstract; with photography it has become total abstraction - just colours, forms and textures.

The subtle shading in the background behind the yellow petals offer subdued contrast to the bright yellow foreground.

At the point of unfolding. Very soft changes of color with undefined lines.
The above abstract photos are available for sale on the Picassomio website.
They vary in price depending on the size, and must be sold through Picassomio. This is a commercial site, and they take a commission for the go-between assistance that they provide with secure servers for your personal information.
Not Quite So Abstract Photos
I also thoroughly enjoy taking photos that are not quite as abstract…that actually have something recognizable in them. But still, it is the colours and forms that excite me.
The process of focusing, watching my breath, watching the movement produced by a breeze, the changing shadows as the sun appears or disappears, removes me from being involved in and weighed down by the events in the environment around me.
The mind is a very powerful organ and likes to have its way with the rest of us. Any moments I can create to remove myself from its' influence and connect to something I have little influence over are moments I cherish. It reminds me that there is a universe outside of myself that accepts me despite the things I do which may not be in its best interest. It allows me to be here and be who I am at the moment, and struggle to figure out why - and what I might do about it all.
