Just For You

Most of this site is all about me…this page is just for you. I consider myself fortunate to be creative, and want to share the products of my active imagination with you. So the things on this page are for YOU. You can swipe them and download them and use them to fill your lives and your home with beauty, contentment or inspiration.

They will be added bit by bit as I work on them, and may need some time to get all the bugs worked out. I have loads of ideas though, so be patient with me. Included will be bookmarks, inspirational quotes, and screensavers with my photos. I will add downloadable pdf files of ebooks to help you on your path to where ever your destination may be. There will be music to contemplate by, and links to other sites that have neat stuff on them. It is my gift to you.  My Gift of Dreams.  May some of these things help you expand your thinking, get you out of the ruts, and achieve contentment.

California Poppies

These little flowers are always so cheerful looking and liven up a garden with their bright color and dainty foliage - what better photo to focus on when wanting to portray the fact that you do not have to be loud, pushy and belligerent to make your mark in the world. You do not need to have a large presence. You can be small and dainty and still create quite an impact - one step at a time.

You can copy this and enlarge to some degree to create a small notecard or poster, or maybe a magnet for your file cabinet or fridge.

Thistle Seed

Your past will always be a part of your future - but your future does not have to be a continuation of your past. You can reshape yourself whenever you please. That simple. Not easy, but simple. One step at a time.

Just as the thistle blossom slowly changes from a beautiful purple bloom in to a pokey seed pod getting ready to distribute its thistle seeds across the country in the breeze, you can also slowly change and begin to distribute the seeds of your talents to fertile ground. Some seeds will grow - some will wither and die - and like the mother plant, you may never be aware of what the offshoots have produced - but you must send them off regardless. I often think of the moments I have had enlightenment of one sort or another, just from hearing someone speak on tv or radio, or looking at a photo or painting, and I realize that the person at the creative end of it has absolutely no idea of what a profound impact that moment has had on my life or my thoughts.

It is with that thought in mind that I just put things 'out there' and hope that something I say or do will have a grain of inspiration for a stranger somewhere else on this planet we share. I just have to trust that it will.

 Goal Bookmarks

If you print these, trim, place them back to back and laminate them, you have a bookmark for your inspirational books. Best to print them on a good card stock to give them strength and substance.

Goals are easy to dream up, but if your actions day to day do not support them and actively move you towards them, you will be in exactly the same place as you are now at the end of it all. You have to change some small thing to move you in the direction of your goal. Make the steps small and simple, or shake your world upside down … whichever method works best for you personally.

Seeds of Ideas

We often have ideas that we keep to ourselves because we think that no one wants to hear. But I have come to the belief that it is our responsibility to put them forward into the world, because we really do not know what others want to hear. They may be changed by the comment, and very thankful for hearing it. It does not mean we have to force our ideas on others. It does not mean that all of our thoughts will fall on receptive ears. But if we have the opportunity to send these seeds of ideas off to find their own fertile ground, they may well grow in to something to be proud of.

This first video below is just an awesome reminder of where we are and what magnificence we are surrounded with each and every day!

Inspirational Videos

There are loads of them available on youtube.com and I will post one every now and then for you to enjoy.

Perseverance

An eagle is magnificent to watch, turning and swooping, trying every way it can to outsmart the prey and make a meal of it. It's a tragic dance to watch, if you think about the victim - but it is awesome to watch while considering the tactics the eagle uses to be successful. The bird will change its direction of approach, its timing, the height it attacks from, and it will persevere until it either succeeds, or loses the opportunity.

When the opportunity has passed without successful completion, it does not give up. It continues on the path looking for the next opportunity to present itself, and is ready, willing and able to try again. Its intent is set - to find a meal. It explores new territory, and when the opportunity ends in success, it partakes of the sustenance.

We can follow the same path. Set our intent - explore new territory - accept the sustenance that becomes available, however small - then continue on the journey refining the approach tactics and being ready and willing to leap upon the opportunities that present themselves.

If you click on the picture, it will take you to a larger copy that can be printed out for a small poster.

*NOTE:  If you cannot clip these from programs on your own computer, www.clipmarks.com is a great site. The sign up is free, and you can clip anything on your screen, then email, save to a clipmarks account, post it on your blog, share it with friends, print it out - you have lots of choices.

Links to Fun and Interesting Sites

I will post links to other sites that offer some unique points of view/ fun ideas/ interesting stuff. Come back once in a while and check them out. You never know what you might find that tweaks your interest.

I found this site, for those of you interested in the 'Law of Attraction' or 'The Secret'. It is called the "Prosperity Game" and each day you log in to spend virtual money - what could be more fun than that? Firstly, you make a list of things that you would like to have, do or be. Then you start spending the virtual cheques that you get. The amount increases as the days go by, and you spend them in 'virtual space' on whatever you choose (probably from the list of things you have made). Throughout the process you get to pinpoint areas of resistance that you might have about actually receiving what it is that you think you want, and in so doing enable yourself to decrease the resistance by acknowledging it. But even if you don't follow the theory of "The Secret" - it's always fun to spend money with no strings attached!

Box of Crayons is a great site. You have to sign up, but very little information is asked for, and he doesn't inundate you with emails that drive you crazy. It is well worth the sign up to check out his 'Eight Irrisistable Principle of Fun' and the '5.75 Questions You've Been Avoiding'. They are well done little video animations that cut right to the point and are fun to watch. Let them provoke your thinking and your actions.

Of course, I can't forget to include a link to the Hubble telescope photos and NASA's space pictures. Looking at them is always awe inspiring. To think of the reactions that take place above our heads on a constant basis - to look at the gorgeous colors that are created by picking up on the different elements involved in the activities taking place - to think that our own little planet is such a small pebble compared to the cosmos. It is humbling.

Another really crazy, fun site for playing is zefrank's pages. Start with the 'flake maker' or the 'string spin' to get an idea what the site is all about. The flake maker is a page where you can make your own snowflake (in rather intricate design) and then set it to rotate in 2 dimensions or 3 dimensions. The string spin starts out with lines that you draw, then begins spinning a three dimensional design out of it. There is also a page called 'carol maker' where you decide what lines to put the notes on and the program creates the music from those notes (sung by a small group of santas elves). They are just off-the-wall things to do and they are fun. They get you out of the tunnel and into something different for a few moments. It's interesting how absorbing it can be.

Giggles

A Giggle Coach friend of mine suggested we should have some humour on the page, and I think it's a great idea. If you visit teehee.com you will understand why. Annette Goodheart PhD takes you through the reasons for using laughter in therapy of various kinds, and the process that takes place in the body when laughing. It's a great tool - and as a friend says "Smile! It gives your face a lift." It really is a healing mechanism.

I've lived a good portion of my life by a lake inundated with tourists every summer. So to keep my sense of humour I used to create little cartoons of things that I had seen. If you don't want to draw things yourself, there is a site on the internet called  stripgenerator.com where you can use preset characters and shapes to make your own cartoon strip. Keeping our sense of humour can be life-saving.

Getting your vacation exercise the hard way - or the easy way.

'Tubing' down the river  - takes a minute to get it figured out.

As it does with para-sailing and water skiing.

I find it really important to my well being to keep nurturing my areas of endeavour with new and interesting things to consider. If you click on the photo you can clip a version that should enlarge bigger than this one if it is too small.
